BayView State School - Term 2, Week 6
Deputy Principal, Mrs Hayley Hampton
Deputy Principal Prep - Year 2.
I would like to introduce myself to the BayView SS community. As a very passionate early childhood teacher, I have worked across numerous schools over the past 23 years and have been a Deputy Principal for the Early Years for the past 7 years at Logan Village State School.
I grew up in the Redlands and am fortunate to have taught at a couple of nearby schools. My husband and I have 3 children, 16 yr old twin boys and a 10yr old daughter and as a family, we enjoy camping and outdoor activities. Please feel welcome to come and introduce yourself to me. I am really looking forward to a new opportunity for growth and leadership at BayView and have already been so impressed with the kindness of the students and families I've worked with.
We are preparing for our upcoming Under 8's Day, which is sure to be a lot of fun at the end of the term.

Friday Book Buddies.
Last Friday afternoon, the students from 4 Azure and 1 Yellow met on the grass to share a book. The year 4 students spread out blankets and invited the younger boys and girls to share their library books. Mrs Rees and Mrs Jones agreed that the students all had a great time, and that Book Buddies would become a regular event in the future.

Fresh Lemonade!

Three of our little entrepreneurs, Max and Saxon and Jayce came up with a plan to hold a lemonade stand, creating marketing posters and pricing. They found a recipe and wrote an email asking for donations of lemons. The boys wanted to raise money for the kids at school who need books.
Quote from Max "I do this to bring joy to all the kids."
Thanks to everyone who supported their stall and Miss McDonald Ms Gravis and all who donated lemons!
